OUTLINE
- THEY THAT MOURN
- THE COMFORT FROM THE LORD
THEY THAT MOURN
To mourn means to weep or cry. To be in a state of grief. Hence the need to be comforted. I would like us to remember that these Beatitues are the very first teachings of Christ. They are therefore the very fundamental information about the Kingdom.
To mourn here isn't the cry of a lost one or property or punishment from parents. But rather a reality that happens on a person soul. If we look again into the words and teachings of our Lord, we would see why He gave that statement. In John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world". In a world full of evil and lawlessness, and hatred for righteousness.....we can not but expect oppositions
When cheated and justice isn't granted...one would mourn.
THE COMFORT FROM THE LORD
Our memory verse Matthew 5:4 says "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted". It tells that there is a reward for or solace for those that mourn. We know what kind of mourning Christ is referring to here.
It didn't say blessed are those mourning nor blessed are the mourners, but blessed are they that mourn. With the level of unrighteousness everywhere, should we be smiling and dancing or lamenting just like Jeremiah. So when we do these things boldly go against the corrupt ways of this world God is saying comfort is going to be granted to us. And as the saying says, he that laughs last laughs best.

Questions
- According to Ezekiel 9:1-11, Explain what mournung is?
- Give examples of them that mourn and were comforted according to the bible?
- Have you ever mourn over a situation or a person before? If yes, were you comforted?
Conclusion
Blessed are they that mourn, mourn on account of persecution or the evil and unrighteousness in the land, for God will comfort them. But when we ought to mourn we are found celebrating, then when the time of comfort comes one would be out. Luke 6:21 and 25 says "Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh." :Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep". May we be discerning rightly in JESUS Name. Amen
